In January 2020, the following students were honored in our 2019 Gift of Reading Essay Contest by having their winning essays published in the Morgan Hill Life Newspaper:
- 2nd/3rd-grade winners: Chase Haugen (1st) and Emily Edesten (2nd)
- 4th/5th-grade winners: Elizabeth Jo Stevenson (1st) and Colby Haugen (2nd)
- 6th/8th-grade winners: Megan Jones (1st) and Agnes William (2nd)
First and second-place winners also received a BookSmart gift certificate, a writing journal and a certificate of merit presented by the Mayor of Morgan Hill in front of the City Council.
Congratulations to the more than one hundred participants for getting involved – and for demonstrating a love of reading!
